The fit philosophy

Fit should feel fast, quiet, and natural.

The right size does not fight your position. It supports your posture, keeps contact points calm, and lets the bike disappear underneath you.

For bicycles, begin with your height and inseam, then consider how you ride. Road riders often prefer a slightly longer, lower position. Urban and hybrid riders may want a more upright feel. Mountain riders should balance clearance, control, and confidence over technical terrain.

For helmets, gloves, apparel, and accessories, sizing is about stability without restriction. Measure carefully, compare against the guide, and choose the option that matches your preferred ride feel.

How to measure

Three minutes, better miles.

01

Measure height and inseam barefoot.

Stand against a wall, keep the tape vertical, and measure inseam from floor to saddle-contact height. This helps validate frame size beyond overall height.

02

Check reach before chasing speed.

A fast bike still needs relaxed shoulders and controlled breathing. If your lower back, wrists, or neck feel overloaded, the cockpit may be too long or low.

03

Measure apparel over base layers.

For jerseys, jackets, and bibs, measure chest, waist, and hips with the layers you expect to wear. Performance apparel should feel close, not restrictive.

04

Validate contact points under movement.

Helmet straps, gloves, saddles, and shoes should stay stable as you move. A good fit feels calm when the road gets louder.

Fit lab

Small adjustments change the whole ride.

Sizing is the foundation, but the final ride feel comes from contact points. Use these cues to understand whether your setup is composed, efficient, and ready for real routes.

Saddle height

Smooth power, no rocking.

Your hips should stay quiet while pedaling. Excessive rocking often means the saddle is too high.

Handlebar reach

Relaxed shoulders, clear control.

A good cockpit lets elbows stay soft and hands rest naturally on the bars.

Helmet position

Level, low, and stable.

The helmet should sit level across the forehead and remain secure without uncomfortable pressure.

Layering room

Performance fit with air to move.

Jackets and thermal layers need enough space for posture changes without flapping in the wind.

Apparel and accessories

Choose fit by ride intention.

A race jersey, commuter shell, trail glove, and cold-weather layer should not fit the same way. Start with the measurement chart, then match the silhouette to the ride.

Road performance Closer cut, minimal fabric movement, clean pocket position.
Gravel and trail Stable fit with added mobility through shoulders and hips.
Urban commute Enough room for posture shifts, weather layers, and casual movement.
Cold weather Allow space for base layers without compressing insulation or blocking breathability.

Fit questions

Common sizing questions before checkout.

Use these answers as a quick check before choosing your frame, apparel, helmet, glove, or accessory size.

What if I am between two bike sizes?

Choose the smaller size if you want sharper handling, more standover clearance, or a sportier position. Choose the larger size if you prefer a calmer cockpit, longer reach, or a more stable feel at speed.

Should cycling apparel fit tighter than normal clothing?

Usually, yes. Performance cycling apparel is often cut closer to reduce fabric movement and improve comfort on the bike. If you want a casual fit or plan to layer heavily, size up.

How should a helmet feel when properly sized?

A helmet should sit level, low on the forehead, and feel secure without painful pressure. When you move your head, it should not rock forward, backward, or side to side.

Do saddle and handlebar adjustments change sizing?

They refine fit, but they do not fully fix the wrong size. Saddle height, saddle setback, stem length, and handlebar width can fine-tune comfort after you start with the right frame range.
